The Discover More Card is designed for those with very good credit who are looking for a cash reward credit card that offers a $50 Cashback Bonus® after you make $599 in purchase within your first three months.

Through the rewards program, cardholders earn a 5% Cashback Bonus® in categories such as travel, gas, restaurants, movies, and more. Cardholders also earn up to 1% for general purchases and up to 1% Cashback Bonus on all other purchases automatically.

As an added bonus, cardholders can earn up to a double Cashback Bonus when redeeming their rebates for gift certificates from participating Discover Card Partners. There is no yearly limit on the amount of rebates that can be earned, and rebates do not expire as long as the account is active within a 36-month period.

Aside from the reward program, the card also provides several platinum benefits, including up to $500,000 in travel accident insurance, auto rental insurance, and various fraud and security protection services. Cardholders will also receive discounts on products and services at participating merchants and retailers.

Therefore, those who plan to spend over $3,000 a year (to earn the 1% cash rebate), plan to use their Cashback Bonus award at participating retailers (to earn double cash rebates), and plan to pay in full each month after the introductory rate expires (to avoid costly finance charges) will benefit most from what the Discover More Card has to offer.

BTW, it is important to note that like many cash reward cards, the highest rebate offered will not apply to all purchases made with the credit card. In this case, 1% will only be applied only to those purchases made after the cardholder spends over $3,000 in one year, so the overall cash rebate earned will be less than 1%, depending on the amount spent. For instance, if the cardholder were to spend $4,000, only $1,000 of this amount would be applied towards the 1% rebate. However, this does not take into account any promotional offers or the full 5% Cashback Bonus® award.

Apparently, I never really know anything about the Pulaski Bank Visa Card issued by Pulaski Bank, except seeing it mentioned in the Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine as one of the low-rate cards.

So how low is the rate? How about 6.50% fixed APR for both purchase and cash advance?

When I apply for a new credit card, and for all those credit cards that I already own, I almost never paid any attention to the card’s interest rate, except the introductory rate which could be 0% for 12 months. Some may argue that interest rate is probably one of the most important elements of a card offer, but that’s never the case for me because I always pay my credit card bills in full. So whatever rate a card charges doesn’t bother me at all (I’d rather keep a close eye on the card’s rewards program). Nonetheless, I can still tell that the 6.50% APR is still much lower than the rates of all the premium cards I own, where are usually in the range between 10 to 15% APR.

While it’s nice to have a card with a low rate, I also want some other features or benefits if I would ever get a card. Unfortunately, there isn’t much you can expect from the Pulaski Bank Visa Card except, well, the low rate. So basically, the low rate is the only feature of this credit card (BTW, you will have to pay a $35 annual fee for using the card).

Well, I don’t know about you, but I don’t think this is a card for me. I want a card to have a little bit more than a low rate. However, if you always carry a balance on your credit card, then the Pulaski Bank Visa Card could make a nice choice. After all, you can save a lot of money with a card that charges 6.5o% APR than a card that charges 15.0% APR.

Rewards programs from most credit cards usually reward cardholders with cash backs, frequent flyer miles, or points. The AmericanDream Card, on the other hand, gives card members entries to the sweepstakes. Every time a dollar is spent on everyday purchases with the card, an entry to the monthly American Dream jackpot is earned. Card members can receive up to 1,000 entries per qualified transaction and there’s no limit on the number of entries one can earn. Sounds interesting, doesn’t it?

During the promotion period (from now till September 30, 2009), the card is offering some incentives to encourage people apply for the card, including:

1,000 lottery entries for just applying for the card;

50 entries for every referral and another 1,000 entries for every approved application;

100 entries for paying bills online;

So what exactly is up for grab? Well, the grand prize for one lucky winner each month’s drawing is 0.5% of the total amount spent by all card members during the month, up to $25,000.

What do you think of this card? While the jackpot is pretty impressive, I won’t put too much into the odds of actually winning, obviously depending on the number of users and how much money they spend. To increase your chance of winning the sweepstakes, you will have to spend more money. The spending, however, could end up earn you nothing if you don’t win the lottery. I’d prefer a guaranteed return for the money I spend via a reward program that guarantees something, might that be rebates or miles.

Anyway, that’s just me. Take a look at the AmericanDream Card to see if it’s your type.

The cards, with four different varieties including Platinum, Gold, Classic and Secured, are issued by HSBC Bank Nevada, N.A., which also operates the HSBC Direct Online Bank.

The Classic Card is ideal for people who are interested in establishing better credit but having trouble obtaining a premium card. If you are in need of a credit card that provides the opportunity to improve your creditworthiness, then you may find one of the Orchard Bank Classic MasterCard to be a good fit. Benefits of the Classic Card include acceptance at millions of locations worldwide. In addition, cardholders also receive online account access as well as e-mail and text message payment reminders. Upon approval, you may qualify for a six-month 0% introductory rate on purchases and balance transfers, depending on your credit profile.

The Classic Card charges a $49 annual fee plus another $49 account processing fee. The card currently has a variable purchase APR of 14.9%. For people with really poor credit history, the Secured Card may be approved (which card will be approved depends on the screening during the account application process), which requires a $200 minimum security deposit but has a lower 7.5% APR and $35 annul fee. The annual fee is waived for the first year.

Other fees charged include a Cash Advance Fee of 5% ($10 minimum) and 3% foreign transaction fee the U.S. dollar amount on transactions made in a foreign currency.

The card was launched yesterday as the only card that rewards its cardholder for maintaining a healthy credit. What what I can see, the main attraction of this card is that it actually pays customers, with ThankYou Network rewards points and interest rate reduction, for staying below their credit limits and paying bills on time. And that’s not all the Forward card offers. Card members can also earn hefty rewards with Forward, including

5 rewards points for every dollar spent on books, movies, music, and at restaurants and 1 point for $1 elsewhere;

100 ThankYou Points each billing period when paying bill on time and staying under the credit limit.

In addition to the rewards points, cardholder can also be rewarded with a 0.25% reduction in the card’s interest rate if he/she pays at least the minimum amount due three months in a row. So even if you carry a balance, you won’t see your rate go up, but rather come down as long as you pay the minimum. Carrying a credit card balance isn’t something that I will recommend because you will keep accumulating more debt if you only pay the minimum, but it’s at least good to know that the rate will be lowered. The bad news, however, is there’s a limit of 2% APR reduction you can take throughout the time of being a card member.

Since this a new card, it is now offering some incentives to new card members, including

6,000 ThankYou points after making $50 purchase within the first three months;

5,000 ThankYou points after signing up to receive paperless statements within the first three months.

The requirements aren’t really high to get the 11,000 rewards points (which can be redeemed for gift cards from various merchants), besides, the card doesn’t carry an annual membership fee.

What do you think of this new card? Check it out to see if and what you like it.

To get the bonus points, you will need to spend at least $600 ($300 for basic level card) in the first 3 months after the account is opened. The 20,000 bonus points can be redeemed for a round-trip domestic flight ticket worth up to $400.

Citi PremierPass Card Reviews

Citi PremierPass Card Elite Level is one of the best travel rewards credit cards that gives card holders the flexibility to choose how they want to be rewarded. With this card, you can not only earn ThankYou rewards points by spending on everyday purchases, but also earn miles by using the card to buy airline tickets, for yourself and for anybody else. Details of the card’s rewards program include:

Earn 1 point for every mile flown with any airline on tickets you buy for anyone with this card

Earn 2 points for every dollar you spend at gas stations, supermarkets and drugstores, plus earn 1 point for every other dollar you spend on all other purchases

Get a complimentary companion ticket when you buy a qualifying ticket

Redeem points for flights on any airline with no blackout dates; discounts on hotel stays, retail gift cards and more through ThankYou Network rewards program

Points never expire, as long as you make 1 purchase every 3 calendar years

You will get all these benefits from PremierPass Card Elite Level with the price of $75 annual fee. If you don’t want to pay the annual fee, there’s a basic level card with watered-down benefits:

Earn 1 point for every 3 miles flown with any airline on tickets you buy for anyone with this card

Earn 1 point for every $1 spent on all purchases

Redeem points for flights on any airline with no blackout dates; discounts on hotel stays, retail gift cards and more through ThankYou Network rewards program

Points never expire, as long as you make 1 purchase every 3 calendar years

Redeem ThankYou Points

Rewards, including the account opening bonus, are earned as ThankYou points which can be redeemed through ThankYou Network, the unique rewards program for eligible Citi credit cards and Citi banking products. ThankYou points can be redeemed for a wide verity of products, gift cards, flight tickets, hotel stays, even cash if you choose to.

You can redeem 10,000 ThankYou points for $100 gift certificates at Macy’s, Sears, or Gap, etc.

If you favor cash, then you can exchange 16,000 points for $100 cash rewards.

If you choose airline tickets, you will have to options: Variable flight option – Book any ticket or itinerary through Expedia; Fixed flight option – The number of points for a particular destination is fixed, but you can get a little more with the points.

If you fly a lot, then this card, the Elite Level card, can definitely help you accumulate ThankYou poins faster because you earn one point for every mile flown and the bonus points they are offering now can give you a jump start.

Though the process hasn’t completed yet, I am starting to looking for a few items that I will need once the registration completes, among them a tax ID, a business bank account, and a business credit card. The tax ID is very easy to get. The bank account and credit card, however, need a little more researches.

For the business credit card, what I want from it is pretty much the same as what I want from my personal credit cards: good rewards. Though I don’t anticipate a lot of charges on the business card, I do want to get as much back as possible from it.

During my research, I came across this Kiva BusinessCard from Advanta. What’s special about this card is that not only I can earn cashback every time I use the card, but also I can help others to start or grow their businesses at the same time. The way how this works is like this:

The first $1,200 qualified bonus purchases every year, including Kiva grants or other charitable donation will earn 5% cashback, which will be rewarded as statement credit;

Any qualified bonus purchase above $1,200 will earn 1% cashback.

And any grant, which can be as little as $25, made to Kiva will be matched dollar-to-dollar by Advanta.

In addition to Kiva grants and charitable donations, other qualified bonus purchases include gasoline and diesel fuel, computers, computer supplies, electronics and office supplies, online advertising services, and utilities and telecommunications. For other purchases excluding qualified bonus purchases, rewards are earned based on a tiered structure:

$0 – $3,000: 0.25%

$3,001 to $5,000: 0.50%

$5,000 to $15,000: 0.75%

$15,001 and above: 1.00%

While helping other small business owners in need is a great idea, especially when there’s a match, I have to say that the rest of the rewards program isn’t that appealing. I haven’t looked any other business credit cards yet, so I don’t know what other are offering in terms of rewards. While I will keep searching, this Kiva BusinessCardwill be on my mind.

Well, this is sort of a new card that was first introduced back in September 2007. It’s still a credit card, but it has some features that are not shared by those traditional Visa or MasterCard you have.

RevolutionCard Credit Card Review

First, the RevolutionCard doesn’t affiliate with either Visa or MasterCard, or Discover or American Express, so you won’t find logos from any of them on the card. It’s an independent credit card issued by First Bank & Trust, Brookings, SD.

Second, unlike all the credit cards you own so far, no personal information, such as, name or account number, is embossed on the RevolutionCard. So by just looking at the card itself, you won’t know whom it belongs to.

Third, the RevolutionCard is a PIN-based card, which means that you authorize transactions by your PIN, not your signature. Without the correct PIN, nobody can use your card to make a purchase, even if they hold the physical card.

The reason why this card is called RevolutionCard is because of the above second and third feature, which the issuer claims that will greatly reduce the risk of identity theft and fraudulent charges. Can PIN-based transactions be effective in combating identity theft? I am not so sure because requiring a PIN, not a signature, isn’t really new. I agree that not displaying any personal information on the card is a good idea to protect cardholder’s identity. And, of course, one’s signature is much easy to forge than obtaining the PIN. But I am not very confident how these new features will help card members.

RevolutionCard Promotion

Right now, RevolutionCard is running a promotion to get people using their card. The card is currently accepted at more than 300,000 stores across the nation, including Barnes & Nobel, CVS, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Office Depot, T.J. Maxx and Walgreen’s, etc.

Use your RevolutionCard to make a purchase of $50 or more between 11/15/08 and 1/31/09 and receive a $5 credit on your statement. This offer may be used by RevolutionCard credit card accounts up to twenty (20) times for a maximum credit to your account of $100. This offer may be used by MoneyExchange RevolutionCard accounts up to five (5) times for a maximum credit to your MoneyExchange account of $25.

Interested? Get a RevolutionCard credit card andd experience yourself whether it’s truelly revoltionary.
